My dog is my best friend and a member of my family. Some people don’t like it when I say my furbaby is my child, but those people don’t know what it’s like to raise someone who loves to make you smile and laugh, and is always happy to spend time with you.

After getting the initial fitting done, every time we want to go on a walk, I just slip the harness over his head, clip the band around his chest and we’re off to the races! It also came with a reflective surface on the front so when we were out at night it’s easy for people and vehicles to see us. When wearing the harness my pupper stopped pulling me around while we were on walks, and instead followed my commands. Our walks have become so much more enjoyable and I will never use another harness again.

This harness features 3 leash clip options including one on each side of the harness to help with discouraging pulling. I found this very useful when training my dog.

I got this because it helps even more with stopping pulling by adding a front clip option to the ShawnCo harness so when my dog pulls it gets turned back around toward me. 2. Kurgo Dog Harness

The Kurgo dog harness was another choice.

This harness took a little more time to get the adjustments right but once I did I found it to be a good backup harness. Being a former military guy, I liked the option to attach items to the harness through the molle system. I also found the larger handle to be easier to grab when I went to lift my dog up, or hold him in place. Unfortunately, there were no reflective surfaces which would have made me feel safer while I was out at night. Overall, my dog didn’t pull while using this harness and the extra padding on his chest made me feel comfortable that even if he did pull he wouldn’t hurt himself.

The Kurgo dog harness comes in two different styles, two different colors and ranges in size from XS – XL. Overall the Kurgo dog harness is an excellent backup harness if your main harness is out of commission.

3. Wingoin Dog Harness

If you’re a former soldier like myself you might want to check out Wingoin’s dog harness. Wingoin’s dog harness was very tactical in its look and offered fun things like Velcro to put my military patches on. When using this harness my dog didn’t pull while on the majority of our walks, and I found this harness to be useful in keeping my dog under control. Every piece of this harness was adjustable, although the clips were not always the easiest to unfasten. This harness brought back a sense of nostalgia from my time in the service which I enjoyed.  

The harness does come with a little strip of reflective surfaces, but doesn’t do much in the way of keeping your dog visible. The Wingoin’s dog harness comes in five different colors and ranges in size from XS – XL. With a price tag of $22.99 the Wingoin dog harness is the right call for someone on a budget.

4. Warrior Dog Harness

The Warrior Dog Harness is a great harness to have if you have an injured dog. Their harnesses are designed specifically to accommodate pet wheelchairs. Comfy in design, the wheelchair system hooks directly into the harness allowing your best friend to remain mobile while also not pulling on the leash. With the secure clip on their side, it makes taking on and off simple and easy.

The Gooby dog harness comes in at $64 and comes in three color variations, and ranges in size from XS – XL. Every dog deserves to go on walks, and if your dog is injured, the Warrior Dog Harness is the right choice for you. 

5. Kong Dog Harness

Last but certainly not least on our list is the Kong Dog Harness. Tough and durable, the Kong Dog Harness will hold up over time, but I found the design to be a bit lacking. With a price tag of $119.99 I was expecting a bit more. The harness gives you the ability to hook your leash up in the front as well as the rear, but other than that I found myself wanting more from this harness.

Raising a furry friend is one of the most rewarding experiences, but it’s also a lot of work.
